Elderflower Tea
It’s blooming season for the Elder plant and we know just what to do with al those sweet, white blooms. There are so many versions of this recipe that have been passed down through the years, but I wanted to give you my version of fresh Elderflowers and dried rose with a hint of pungent sage. This recipe not only relieves clod and flu symptoms, but is also good for sore throats, overall oral health, and menopause.
You’ll need:
1/2 cup elderflower (fresh or dried a little)
1/4 cup sage leaves (dried)
2 tbsp red rose petals (dried)
1 tsp rose hips (dried)
2 tbsp spearmint (dried)
honey or agave to taste
Make it:
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
Place all of the herbs into a french press (or 1 qt jar if you don’t have one).
Pour the boiling water over the herbs and let steep for 20-30 minutes.
Press or stir, then strain and add your sweetener.
