Creating a Healing Space for Meditation
Most of us decorate our homes with fancy vases, fake flowers, cool pictures and sparkly fixtures... but do we really take the time to understand what creates the type of atmosphere we should all seek to have in our home?
Your home is a sacred space, it should be filled with love and gracious intent. It is where you and your family will build your lives... thriving off of one another and dreaming of endless possibilities. Creating and nurturing harmonious vibes will cultivate a deeper connection to self and to your loved ones, as well as zap any negative vibrations that are bound to try to creep into your home.
NOW SERVING #GOODVIBESONLY
Create the type of vibe at home that you wish to carry with you each day! Find a space that is free from stressful activities, but that the whole family has access to. Let your space be a reminder of peace, harmony and reflection. I like to create this harmonious space near the entrance, or Knowledge Area , of the home. This way, the emotion and intentions are set as soon as one enters and any bad energy is automatically dispelled.
Creating an altar on a mantle or shelf brings focus to a physical space to concentrate on while manifesting loving energy within the space. Yes, i know... when we think of an altar, we think of the church. We think about laying it all out on the altar and leaving our troubles behind. We think of meeting our soulmate at the altar to bind our relationship to them. We think of spirituality and God! Well... that's sort of the point. Spirituality should translate to wherever we are. The feeling should never leave us, especially in our Sacred Space at home. When you research altar, you get "sacrifice" and "burnt offerings." This to me translates to candle burning and intention setting. There is no separation when it comes to spirituality and connecting to yourself. Creating a space to regularly connect with your higher self is an honorable act of self-love. If you were fortunate enough to come from a household that upholds the connection to yourself through regular interactions with your ancestry, then you are light years ahead of the rest of us in the game. To be honest, my upbringing was solely Christianity based, so I was taught more about worship and bowing than about going inward and holding my head high. I'm not speaking against the religion at all though, it gave me the fundamentals of what having faith is all about.
CLEAN IT OUT
Dedicate time to clean your space. Clean it from top to bottom and wash every surface. Make a Happy Home Floor Wash or mist if you have carpet (and I don't mean Pine-Sol or Fabuloso either 😏) to encourage happiness, harmony and cooperation. When you are done cleaning the space, smudge it! I like to use White Sage for smudging, but you may use any variation you please. While smudging, envision the type of emotion you would like to see from everyone in your home. Connect with the peace of your space and set intentions throughout . Play vibrational music (528 htz or higher) and clap or snap your fingers to clear out old familial issues. Bring in some house plants for your space to create the ambiance and if you can, bring in triangles in whatever form you can find. The triangle symbolizes so many things: the concept of feet on the earth heart in heaven, ancient wisdom, mystic-ness, an energetic gateway, the holy trinity, spirit, the number three (avoid wasting the growing faith in yourself), the sacred feminine and masculine energies. You may want to bring in a Light Worker to help clear old energies within your home in order to start anew. If possible, it may be necessary to change the colors on the wall to a blue or light purple, an off-white or another pastel. Pale purple is the color associated with the higher chakra centers for intuition and enlightenment. Need to learn how to meditate better? Check out Meditation 101 for tips.

During Lunar times add essential oils of aloe, woods, camphor, and myrrh to an aroma burner and diffuse through the home to encourage a tranquil atmosphere.
This is the way your grandmother's mother used to handle disagreements and tension in the home. This is where they started to demonize Witchcraft and stripped these things away from us, later commercializing the concept laced with chemicals. Who knows what type of intentions are being placed on these products during manufacturing. This and other intentional blends are fragrant and their true goal is the encouragement of happiness, harmony, and cooperation.
PRAYER
hank you. I give my hardships to the flame.
The spirit of fire eats my grief and pain.
I pray that these intentions are blessed.
As I burn this note, I pray that the words written transcends into the universe, carried by the flames. That the universe recognizes these words and finds me worthy of granting my wishes. That the creator, ruler of all things, continues to bless me. Amen, and so it is.
A statue or large crystal should be centered in the middle of the altar, the section for well-being. A few simple items surround the statue or spirit object, such as a geode; a vase of flowers or a small green plant; a candle or tea light; an incense holder; and a beautiful object from nature -- a bird's nest, smooth river stone, feather or pine cone. Sit on a chair made from wood or grasses, or a cushion covered in yellow, maroon or earth-colored natural fabric so you feel grounded. Always use the same cushion for meditation -- the energy collects in it and makes your meditation more powerful.
